January 2016 Favorites

Hellooooooo! I'm starting off the new year (a little late) with a new blog post! I made a promise to myself that I'll try and blog a lot more this year than I did last year.

I've tried so many new products in January and December of last year, and now, they're all my staple products. Stay tuned for some amazing posts!

Makeup Favorites

My first favorite of the month is the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. I tried it last year and I hated it. I started changing my skincare routine around October last year and it's made a huge difference in how my foundation looks and performs. I gave this foundation another try in December and I'm really glad I did because I get the perfect color, coverage, and finish. It's all I've been wearing during January. I currently mix the shades Punjab and Stromboli and it's a perfect match.

My next favorite is the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush. This is the perfect brush, in my opinion, to apply the NARS foundation. It spreads product evenly and doesn't leave streaks behind. Compared to the Expert Face Brush, I like this one a lot better because it doesn't absorb a lot of product.

The Balm Instain Blush in the shade Swiss Dot is my go-to blush at the moment. It really does live up to its name. I put it on at 10 AM and at 10 PM my blush is still visible and not patchy. This shade is nice peachy pink color that suits my skin tone well. I only apply the smallest amount so that I don't look pasty.

OK. Don't hate me for this but I bought Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop and I kinda love it... not because Jaclyn Hill had something to do with it. I like Champagne Pop (CP) much better than Moonstone because it shows up a lot more on my skin tone. But, I like CP just as much as Opal. The only issue I have with CP is that I feel like it doesn't sparkle as much as Opal. That's ok though because I can put on 5 layers and blind people with my highlight.

Skincare Favorites

I've made some serious skincare changes these past two months. I recently bought the Clarisonic Mia 2 and it's one of the best purchases ever (my sister actually bought it, we're just sharing, with different brush heads, of course). I'm noticing that my skin has less clogged pores and I'm having less breakouts. I like to use the Clarisonic before doing a mask so that the ingredients can work more effectively.

The Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water is seriously amazing. To be completely honest, I think it's better than the Bioderma Sensibio Cleansing Water. The Garnier cleansing water cleans my face and it doesn't leave a residue behind. I find that the Bioderma cleansing water leaves behind a slightly greasy residue and it's uncomfortable on my skin. I love using this before cleansing my face because it makes my face extra clean.

My new favorite cleanser is the First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser. It's extremely gentle, yet it still takes off all the makeup on my skin. I use this every morning and night and it just makes my skin feel refreshed. I feel like this cleanser helped balance my skin out because I'm not as oily as I used to be. I recommend this cleanser to everyone of all ages!

That's all for my favorites! Let me know in the comments what your favorite products of the month were and what kind of posts you'd like to see on my blog!
